Hand and Power Tools for Any Workshop

Hand and power tools are important for any DIY enthusiast. Hand tools can include anything from woodworking to small garden tools. Power tools are electrically controlled and may have engines. Hand tools are arguably more complicated but that does not mean that they are not as useful. Indeed, there are a collection of both hand and power tools which are integral for any workshop.

In terms of hand tools one of the most prominent includes screw guns. These are different to screwdrivers as they are quicker at repairing. In terms of hanging things and repairing loose screws, the screw gun is very important.

Another key hand tool any workshop should have is the hammer. They do not require batteries to work and are strong and sturdy in the way they are built. Hammers are typically used for nails, rather than screws and can fix broken wood materials. There are several different hammers, but all mainly serve the same purpose, at least one in a workshop is an integral tool needed.

The chisel is another hand tool that should be in any workshop. It is mainly used as a woodworking tool. A chisel needs to be perfectly sharpened to work at its most effective. It can clear out waste from joints. The main uses of chisels include: removing wood when making joints, and removing thin edges off wood.

The screwdriver is simple for removing screws that have either been put in the wrong place or put in at a certain angle. More so, although it is a hand tool, it requires minimal strength as on average six turns will get the screw out depending on its size.

Power tools are usually powered by electricity, fuel, hydraulics and so on. They make tools like saws work quicker than the strain caused by hand. A cleaner cut on motored powered saws give greater accuracy. There are several variations of powered saws and these include the petrol chainsaw, jigsaws and circular saws. Usually power saws are much easier and intricate in terms of where you want to cut.

For any workshop it is important to have a good electric drill. The majority of these drills are multipurpose and usually the bigger the drill the more powerful it is. There is a speed control feature allowing you to use the drill at your own pace. There are many electric drills ranging from electric rotary drills, cordless drills, angle drills and SDS drills. It is one of the most prominent DIY tools out there and with a wide variety available for different purposes.

Sanders are also important power tools. Without sanders, wood would not be smooth and the sharp edges would remain. This creates a newly smooth wooden surface. The different types of sanders include belt sanders, disk sanders and drum sanders.

These are just some of the power and hand tools that are essential for any workshop. There are several variations of hand tools which can be used as power tools. The key example is the saw, but this is a matter of choice. People may decide to stick to the hand tool version for convenience or depending on the difficulty of the job being done. Therefore, in this sense, both hand tools and power tools work hand in hand.
